After a few months of mourning for our beloved Neo we realised Kira was lonely so started putting feelers out for a new feline family member. Mikka arrived Sunday. He is an oriental shorthair male and a dark blue/grey in colour with amber eyes; at five years old he is the same age as Kira so we hope that he settles in nicely.
So far there has been a lot of hissing, growling and posturing – not very ladylike behaviour from Kira but no fighting thank goodness. Mikka seems to be a friendly and affectionate cat and I can attest he is very playful, although half past one in the morning is not my idea of play time.
